Tuesday 11 November is Armistice Day 2025
On 11th November, we mark Armistice Day, a time to remember the moment the guns fell silent in 1918, ending the First World War. At Beech Tree Surgery, we join the nation in paying tribute to all those who have served and sacrificed in conflicts past and present.
This day is not only about remembrance, but also reflection. Many of our patients, families, and staff have personal connections to the Armed Forces, whether through service, support roles, or family history. We honour their stories and recognise the ongoing impact of military service on physical and mental health.
If you or a loved one has served in the Armed Forces, please let our reception team know so we can ensure your records reflect this and tailor your care accordingly.
An HM Armed Forces Veteran Card is a way for patients to prove that they have served in the UK Armed Forces. The card can make it quicker and easier to access support and veterans’ services, and it’s free to apply. For more information, or to apply, please click here.

Armed Forces Veteran Friendly GP Practice
Beech Tree Surgery are proud to announce that we are an Armed Forces veteran friendly accredited GP practice.
This means that, as part of the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant, we have a dedicated clinician who has a specialist knowledge of military related health conditions and veteran specific health services. This is important in helping ex-forces to get the best care and treatment.
If you are ex-forces, please let your GP know to help ensure you are getting the best possible care. To find out more, please ask your nurse or GP, or head over to read more on our Services tab.
