Home Visits

Home visits take up a lot more of a GP's time than an appointment in surgery, so we would ask you to bear this in mind when requesting one. We encourage patients to come to the surgeries whenever possible.

If you need a home visit because you are too ill to come to the surgery, please telephone the appropriate surgery before 10.30 am if possible.

Our receptionists will need to know some details in order to give the GPs an idea of the priority for a visit.

Please note that even by taking your details, the receptionists are not guaranteeing a visit. A member of the clinical team may telephone you back for more information, and it is possible you will be invited into the surgery for an appointment, if a visit is felt to be unnecessary. A lack of easily available transport is not necessarily a reason to need a home visit.

Please help us by coming in to surgery whenever possible.
